Sunday, January 31, 2010 (aka The Day We Found Out)

Symptoms: cramps, breast tenderness, vertigo

I got a positive result on an E.P.T. home pregnancy test at approximately 10:15 this morning!

We spent the day celebrating quietly, and we went to see Avatar in 3D at IMAX. I kept feeling so paranoid about spotting, but I haven’t had any spotting since Tuesday, January 26.

Symptoms: cramps, breast tenderness, vertigo

My period is due today, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Every day this week, while I was driving home from work, my left hand would go numb. The numbness would resolve after I arrived home. Today, however, the numbness didn’t go away, and my right hand also became numb. The tips of my fingers on both hands turned blue. Joey rushed me to the ER, where an official diagnosis wasn’t made (the numbness and blue discoloration resolved before the ER doctor saw me). A nurse suggested Raynaud’s syndrome (or phenomenon), and gave me some literature on this harmless but alarming disorder.

I had what I believe might have been implantation spotting today (light, brown). It didn’t even last for a full 24 hours. It’s too early for my period. Nonetheless, I feel discouraged. I really do feel like I have PMS. :(

Away we go...

...on yet another mother-to-be's journey. But this blog is different. You see, it's mine. I hope to share it with baby someday, when he or she isn't exactly a baby anymore. I want him or her to see how Mom got through pregnancy. Sure, there will be minutiae and emotions and flashes of information overload (read: TMI). Sure, there will be trite expressions of love and anxiety. But they're mine.
