Symptoms: cramps, irregular appetite, Raynaud’s attacks
We had a record snowfall here in Dallas on Thursday, February 11. As a result the electricity in our home has been out since then. At one point, as many as 206,000 people were without power in North Texas. I suspect we’ll be among the last to have our power turned back on. In the meantime, I’ve been staying at my parents’ house while Joey has chosen to stay home.
I had some menstrual-like cramps last night, which alarmed me. Other than that, I still haven’t had any truly uncomfortable symptoms. My appetite is strange, though: I often feel like I have no appetite, but then I’ll feel like I absolutely HAVE to eat something or I’ll die! No off-the-wall cravings, yet.

Symptoms: diarrhea, Raynaud’s syndrome, slight fatigue
My theory is that my “morning sickness” is taking the form of diarrhea, occurring mainly in the evening. That’s fine with me! It seems like my Raynaud’s is progressing, though. I’ve had several episodes in the past few days, but none have been as severe as the original episode on January 29. Other than that, I’m just reading books and trying prepare myself mentally and physically for what’s to come.

Symptoms: cramps, lower back pain, diarrhea
So far, the only GI disturbance I am having is diarrhea. I’ll take that over the alternative! I haven’t yet experienced the fatigue that everyone talks about. I often wonder if this pregnancy is progressing normally, because I have had so few symptoms…but then again, I shouldn’t complain, I guess.

The OB called today and said my HCG level was nice and normal (yay!). I go back to the OB on February 17 for the official “new OB visit.”

Week 4: Wednesday, February 3, 2010
Weight: 130 pounds
Symptoms: breast tenderness, back aches and pains, headache
I had my blood drawn today for the second part of the HCG test (see Monday, February 1), and I also received my first RhoGAM injection. While at the OB’s office, the tip of my left middle finger turned blue again (see Friday, January 29); the nurse instructed me to call my primary care physician immediately. I did so, and I went directly to that appointment; the official diagnosis is Raynaud’s syndrome (or phenomenon), most likely a symptom of the pregnancy.

Symptoms: cramping; light, brown spotting; breast tenderness
After getting a positive result on a home pregnancy test yesterday morning, I began spotting this morning (light, brownish), and it looked similar to what I believe was implantation spotting on Tuesday, January 26. I was alarmed by this and called the doctor; I was then advised to come in this morning. A transvaginal ultrasound revealed very little evidence of pregnancy, but the in-office pregnancy test did yield a positive result. He drew some blood to check my blood type and HCG level. I was advised that my blood would need to be drawn again in 48 hours to check for a doubling of the HCG level, which would indicate a normal pregnancy.
